The International Startup Festival is coming to an elevator near you, next floor, TORONTO's CN Tower!
We are hosting elevator pitch competitions in the most impressive elevators in major cities around the world.
The all important one-minute elevator pitch is essential for entrepreneurs to master. Whether they are seeking investment, media attention, or customers they need a solid pitch that tells a compelling story. Our goal is to get entrepreneurs pitching, get them visibility, and have lots of fun in the process.
Aspiring entrepreneurs and startups will be provided a unique opportunity to pitch their business to investors while riding the tallest and most impressive elevators in the world. Pitches will be filmed by award-winning documentary filmmaker, Ondi Timoner, and selected pitches will be featured in her current project, A Total Disruption, a documentary and web series about innovators and entrepreneurs who are using technology to transform our lives.
The winners of each pitch contest will be announced during evening receptions. Their prize : free passes and paid travel to attend the International Startup Festival in Montreal, where winners from every city will compete for the world’s best elevator pitch.
Our First City:
We will host the first stop of the Elevator World Tour at the CN Tower in Toronto. There is no better place for us to launch this tour than Canada’s most impressive elevator.
The Format:
12 judges will take turns (2 judges at a time) listening to 1-minute pitches. A total of 100 pitches will be done over a 2-hour period. One winning pitch will be selected and announced during the evening reception. A cocktail reception will be held at the top of the CN Tower for all to participate in.
Our Goals:
- Bring 350 Startup enthusiasts together
- Help entrepreneurs hone their pitching skills
- Offer visibility to both entrepreneurs and investors
- Bring in local and national media to cover the Startup scene
- Have a great time
